NCAA volleyball: ESPN slate, 2 weeks out, Power 5 coaches polls, fun Tweets and more

The NCAA women’s volleyball season is just two weeks away, and the teams are set to begin practice in the next few days for a blockbuster opening weekend.

ESPN has announced a network family volleyball schedule that includes games on ESPN2, ESPNU, ACC Network, SEC Network and Longhorn Network.

Four of the Power 5 announced all preseason conference teams and the finish order chosen by the coaches. Also, here are some links to some fun teams that played in the first week of practice.

Of course, most of the games will be on ESPN+ this season. But on the network, things kick off on August 26 when he joins Georgia’s Troy on the SEC Network. The next day, the SEC network has San Diego at Texas A&M and Ohio at Kentucky on Sunday. Later in the week, there are two showcase his matches against Stanford in Florida on Tuesday on the SEC and Minnesota in Texas on Wednesday on the Longhorn Network.

Big 12 — Texas received eight of the nine votes for first place in the Big 12. Baylor, who lost 11 seniors and both assistant coaches, received the vote and was selected second. Kansas came in 3rd and 4th.

Last year’s VolleyballMag.com National Player of the Year, Logan Eggleston, was unanimously selected as the league’s preseason player. The top freshman was Baylor Setter Avery Carlson.

Big Ten — Defending National Champion Wisconsin lost two of the country’s best players in midfield Dana Retke and setter Sidney Hilley, but was still ranked first, followed by Nebraska (the team that won the NCAA Championship game). followed by Minnesota and Ohio. .
