Fantasy Basketball Waverwire is almost always ripe for picking for a variety of reasons (injuries, trades, breakouts, etc.). It’s the perfect time to find out. This year is no exception. The large number of players available at this early stage of the campaign will see roster percentages rise rapidly over the next week or so.
Without further ado, here are 11 players we’ll be adding sooner or later.

Tali Eason houston rockets (49% registered)
Eason nearly recorded a double-double (8 points, 7 boards) in 15 minutes of his NBA debut.he was featured In my Daring Predictions column It’s probably only a matter of time before Eason gains significant playing time at multiple positions. If he’s still sitting on your waver wire, don’t hesitate to pick him up.
Hartenstein had a great run in his Knicks debut, scoring 16 points, eight boards, four dimes and one block in 40 minutes. Everything went well in the season opener: Mitchell Robinson An early foul trouble saw them play only 13 minutes and the game went into extra time. But multi-category productions are nothing new to Hartenstein, and will likely rely more heavily on him than in years past.
Hueter picked up momentum in his debut for the Kings, recording 23 points, 6 trays, 3 boards, 2 dimes and 1 steal in 29 minutes. He’s not going to shoot his 8-for-12 from the field most nights, but the Kings seem to rely more on him than the Hawks. Either way, Huerter isn’t shy about flying far beyond the arc (nine attempts) and aggressively seems to have the most green lights. Sacramento’s Top 2 Players (De’Aaron Fox When Domantas Sabonis) usually score from inside the three-point line (although Fox sank five trays on the opener).
Duren missed all four free throw attempts and caused three turnovers on the opener. Nonetheless, the 18-year-old rookie made a strong debut, scoring 14 points, 10 boards, 3 blocks and 1 assist in 22 minutes off the bench. I’ve been drumming Duren incessantly in my preseason column for the past few weeks, and lately I’ve been making some bold predictions. After one game, I’m betting on Duren, albeit against Orlando. He showed off a little bit of everything in his debut match, scoring in a variety of ways including several poster dunks and making his huge presence felt defensively.
walker kessler utah jazz (29% registered)
Duren wasn’t the only rookie center to double-double off the bench in his debut. Kessler compiled his 12 points in his 6-for-6 from the field and in 24 minutes he had 10 boards, 1 dime and 1 steal.Even if it’s a chance just because there was foul trouble Jared Vanderbilt (Foul out in 18 minutes) and Kelly Olynyk With (5 fouls in 15 minutes), Kessler showed that he reached his full potential and could already make up for it if given decent time. For those who can afford to keep a long-term advantage player hidden, Kessler seems like the perfect bet to see his fantasy value increase as the season progresses. He deserves a speculative addition.
Lois O’Neill brooklyn nets (17% registered)
O’Neal isn’t a flashy addition as a relatively low-ceilinged veteran, but the 29-year-old winger is in the prime of his career and is anchored in the starting role. Additionally, he showed his ability to contribute in all categories in the season opener, with 10 points, 7 rebounds, 3 assists, 3 steals, 2 trays and 2 blocks in 34 minutes.
Murphy scored an impressive win against the Nets in the season opener, beating Brooklyn by 16 points, 9 boards, 4 trays, 2 dimes and 1 block in 24 minutes. He also shined in preseason, dominating Summer League. New Orleans has no shortage of depth, and while this is a very small sample size, Murphy may be playing a substantial sixth man role.
Strath scored 22 points, seven boards, five tries and one assist in 31 minutes in the season opener.If you’re looking for a three, get the Strus Duncan RobinsonLast year’s playoffs were nothing out of the ordinary. Strath surpassed Robinson in the rotation and was the two best players (Jimmy Butler When Bam Adebayo) thrive within the arc.
Bruno FernandoHouston Rockets (13% enrollment)
Fernando had a great start to the season, scoring 7 points, 9 boards, 7 dimes and 2 rejects in 25 minutes as a starting center.Meanwhile, a second-year giant alperen army After a sloppy 22 minutes off the bench, he scored 15 points and responded to nine boards, but also committed six turnovers and three fouls. Saenggun doesn’t do much defensively, and at 20 he still looks very green at times. As such, the 24-year-old shouldn’t be surprised if Fernando has gained a good amount of time and established himself as a player associated with fantasy purposes.
veteran Mason Plumlee It remains the starting center in Charlotte. Nevertheless, Richards scored just one minute less than Plumley in the season opener with 19 points and he scored 10 boards. If the Hornets endure a losing season, they may find Richards more involved than Plumlee as the year progresses. Add him to your watchlist.
Veteran fantasy basketball managers know how difficult it is to find players who can contribute enough in the assists and steals division. Injured Point It’s possible his guard won’t be back until the start of the year, but Rubio’s dish-and-swipe ability could be a popular pick-up when he’s healthy. If you have a free he IR spot, consider keeping Rubio stash for the long term.
