In Week 16, the NFL officially became a Winter Wonderland.
The league had eight games that started in freezing temperatures on Saturday. It was so cold in Nashville that the Texans vs. Titans game actually delayed him by an hour as the extreme cold caused rolling blackouts in Tennessee.
Panthers had the coldest home game in franchise history (20 degrees) at kick off), a 37-23 win over the Lions. The Ravens also had the coldest home game in franchise history (17 degrees), a 17-9 win over the Falcons. Not to be outdone, the Seahawks have addressed the temperature (12 degrees) It was the coldest regular season game in franchise history.
One game where the weather wasn’t an issue was in Minnesota, where the Vikings beat the Giants 27-24 on Greg Joseph’s game-winning field goal from 61 yards out. The kick was his fifth longest game-winning field goal in NFL history. The Vikings are 11-0 in one-score games this season, his most one-score wins in a single season in NFL history.
So what would a 61-yard field goal win look like?
