Notre Dame Women’s Basketball maintains its No. 7 spot in this week’s AP Basketball Poll. Fighting Irish (16-2, ACC 6-1) is in 7th place for her third consecutive week.
The top two are South Carolina (20-0), which has held the top spot for 31 straight weeks, and Ohio (19-0) for the second consecutive week. But Stanford (19-2), who dropped from second to his fourth place after an upset loss to USC last week, moved up one place this week to take him to third.
LSU (19-0), who were third last week, slipped to fourth this week with a narrow 79-76 win over unranked Arkansas (17-4). UConn (17-2) remains his fifth-place finish, while Indiana (17-1) is one spot ahead of his sixth-placed Notre Dame for the second week in a row.
Maryland (16-4), who suffered their first loss of the season to Notre Dame in early December, is 11th.
There are five other ACC teams in this week’s AP poll, with Virginia Tech (16-3) in 12th place. last week. As a result, the Blue Devils dropped him three ranks. North Carolina (15-5) was 20th, and Florida (18-4) was 24th.
The Fighting Irish beat Virginia 76-54 on Sunday after beating Clemson last Thursday. Ireland will face her two ranked ACC opponents this week. They will host Florida on Thursday night and move to North Carolina next Sunday.
