Ohio State surges past Nebraska in latest college volleyball Power 10 rankings

We’re heading into the final stages, and things are about to go crazy in college volleyball. Last week we had two big matchups that had a big impact on postseason selection and the current Top 10. Louisville Beats Georgia Tech After falling 2 to 0 sets in a hostile GT environment, he came from behind in the 5th inning. And Ohio State and Nebraska have a rematch after the Huskers beat the Buckeyes in his fifth set in their final loss of the season 13 games ago. This time Ohio State beat Nebraska with a four-set statement.

Here are the results and the rankings:

1. Texas (1)

The Longhorns took it easy this week, adding two sweeps to their resume. However, they are scheduled to face Baylor on November 19th. They’ve already beaten them in four sets in Waco earlier this season, but it’s the Longhorns’ toughest matchup remaining before the tournament.

2. Louisville (2)

I watched the Louisville vs. Georgia Tech game in person last Friday. And I was in an incredible matchup. It looked really dangerous for the cards early on as Julia Bergmann and the Yellow Jackets took a 2-0 lead in the match. I remembered when the card was flat against the pits before pushing to 5 sets. Again, the Cardinals looked like a completely different team and he came out third. She recorded her 27 kills while hitting .300 and above. Amaya Tillman also had a great night quietly with Aiko Jones. Another big thing I noticed about her in this game is that Anna DeBeer has been very limited since her comeback, back she only played on raw and only contributed defensively. But Friday night she swung a few times from the back row, and in the next game she also scored three kills against UNC. She’s slowly but surely coming back and she’ll make a big difference when she comes back full force.

I would love to see this team attack first instead of turning back. In Dani Busboom-Kelly’s post-match speech (after some positive remarks about her amazing comeback), she made it clear that it needed to be our turn to dominate and get off to a strong start. emphasized. t Continue climbing from behind. This place feels a bit expensive for the Cardinals right now, but I’ll keep it there until I have a reason to move. And remember, the rematch with Pitt is this week.

Comeback City: No. 5 Louisville women’s volleyball made an incredible comeback, beating No. 13 Georgia Tech in five innings

3. San Diego (3)

For San Diego, we have the same explanation as last week. This position also feels a little high. I don’t think Toreros will be a top 4 pick in my bracket right now. But do they deserve a top four spot before the tournament? Their only loss was to the Cardinals above them and remember — Ohio State continues to rise week after week — the team San Diego swept this season.

4. Wisconsin (4)

The Badgers extended their winning streak to 14 straight games this season, extending their record to 14-0 at home to remain in fourth place. Badgers, like Ohio State University, seem to be in action at the right time of year. However, Pennsylvania, Nebraska and Ohio are closing out the season. Gotta love the Big Ten.

5. Ohio (6)

Now for the Buckeyes! Ohio State overtook Nebraska in the rankings this week after defeating the Huskers in a pretty overwhelming four-set victory on Sunday. The win avenged their final loss of the season against the Huskers, a five-set thriller 13 games earlier. They did it after Emily Rondott’s best game of the season, who had her 23 kills on a . 353 hit, and she added her 21 digs and her 4 blocks. Gabby Gonzales got her 18 kills in her 20 digs and Jenaisya Moore added her 12 kills. Mac Podlaza had a great game as he had 55 assists and his 11 defending. The defense was great, surpassing him in one of the best defenses in the nation in Nebraska. The Buckeyes are doing perfectly well right now and in my opinion this team can win a national title.

Hit Rewind: Method is as follows No. 6 Ohio State defeated No. 4 Nebraska Volleyball in four sets

6. Nebraska (5)

I didn’t dock Husker much and flip-flopped with OSU after the loss. Arie Beitenhorst has been in great form since her return to the lineup and we can see this team play against Purdue, Minnesota and Wisconsin again. Three opportunities to add top tier wins to their resumes ahead of the selection. In other words, you must love the Big Ten.

7. Pittsburgh (7)

Pitt remains in 7th place, which feels low given his big wins over Louisville and Ohio State, but he’s also lost to Towson. It’s going to be a big week for the Panthers as they have a rematch with Louisville. Another win for him would be monumental for the tournament seeding.

8. Stanford (8)

The Cardinals remain in eighth place this week after a similar result to Louisville. They were able to pull off a five-set win against Southern Cal last week behind a career-high 24 kills from Kendall Kipp. 413 on the night, recording three aces and four digs, tying her season-high with six blocks. I think the Trojans are a really strong team, so I think this come-from-behind win was a courageous performance for Cardinal and a necessary test for the tournament.

9. Minnesota (9)

The Gophers have been sitting at #9 for the past few weeks. They have won their last four matchups, but haven’t faced a ranked opponent since losing to Wisconsin. That’s because Penn State, Ohio State, and Nebraska are still on the schedule for his final two-week game. I think this team has a lot to prove heading into the tournament and they will have the chance to do so.

10. Oregon (10)

Finally, they kept Oregon in 10th place after beating Washington last week. The Huskies just dropped a bad game to Arizona, which doesn’t help in Oregon’s case, but keeps them just above Florida. The Gators have a big matchup against Kentucky this week, so the bottom of my ranking could change in a week.

We’ve packed in so many good volleyballs in the last two weeks. Buckle up, it’ll work.
