Oklahoma Sooners oust Texas A&M Aggies to advance to Men’s College World Series finals

Omaha, Nebraska-Omaha baseball players came to the Men’s College World Series, calling themselves “a bunch of David” in favor of accepting the vulnerable identities they adopted after the overwhelming start of the season. ..

It was one David (David Sandlin) who won most of the credits for defeating Texas A & M, the last national seed of the NCAA tournament on Wednesday.

Sandrin held the Aggie to one run, hit a career-high 12 in seven innings, hit Jimmy Crook’s three-run homer on the first hold, and Oklahoma advanced to the MCWS final with a 5-1 victory.

In an attempt to complete the softball and baseball title sweep, Snurs (45-22) has won more than four runs in a row at Charles Schwab Field and will be competing in the first national championship since 1994.

Opponents in the final three finals starting Saturday will be either Arkansas or Mississippi. These two teams are to meet on Wednesday night, Ole Miss needed one win to move forward, and Arkansas needed two wins.

A fan of Suners chanted “OU! OU!”. Closer Trevin Michael defeated Brett Minnich to end the match against Aggie. The celebration was modest.

“I think those kids are focused,” said Skip Johnson. “I don’t know if it’s a dog pile … it’s sometimes weird. I don’t tell them not to do a dog pile, I can tell you that.”

Texas A & M (44-20) finished 2-2 under MCWS first-year coach Jim Schlossnagle after advancing to 29-27, winning only nine games at the Southeastern Conference. I also failed to participate in the 2021 league tournament.

Sooners didn’t look like the NCAA tournament team after losing two of the first three Big 12 series and starting 18-12. They have won 37 27, including 14 12 since the end of the regular season.

Sandrin gave a one-third relief with a 13-8 victory over the Snurs’ Aggies on Friday in his first season with Snurs after transferring from a junior college. He was tagged with 4 runs.

The purpose of its appearance was to prepare Sandrin for an enhanced atmosphere. It turned out to be a good plan. Sandrin said he worked too hard on his short appearance and took another approach on Wednesday.

“I trusted my preparation,” he said. “Today I feel like it was more of a muscle memory than anything else. Just go out and do it, don’t think too much about things.”

Sandrin (9-4) allowed five hits and walked once on a 100-pitch outing, but effectively moved the outer half of the plate with a sharp slider and an elevated fastball.

He defeated the first three batters he faced, five of the first eight batters and ten of the first 20 batters. He ran into trouble four times when the first two batters reached the base. He then fanned Troy Crunch, Brett Minnitch and Jordan Thompson on the 12th pitch.

“He can mix all his pitches,” Crunch said. “He was able to move the fastball forward early on, and next time he was able to mix and throw whatever he wanted, whenever he wanted.”

Texas A & M starter Ryan Prager (1-4) allowed 4 runs and 3 goals in 2⅓ innings. Jacob Parrish went the rest of the way, giving up three hits and one run and hit eight.

Aggie’s defeated Texas and Notre Dame to advance to the Bracket Final. However, they couldn’t play Sandrin until Dylan Rock hit the home from 6th to the center left.

Sandrin then retired the last six batters he faced, handed over the game and approached Trevin Michael, starting the eighth.

The Suners first led 3-0 in the NCAA Tournament’s Crooks’ fourth home run, adding single runs to the ninth, third and fifth of the season. OU is not behind in MCWS games.

“They have proved to be the best team in our brackets in the last six or seven days, at least playing the best baseball,” Schlossnagle said. “A very consistent starting pitcher, defensive, timely hit.”
