Corvallis, Oregon – Lindsay Behnik, who has been an assistant coach at the University of Pittsburgh for the past 10 seasons, has been named the 12th volleyball head coach in Oregon State’s 46-year history, said Scott Bieber, vice president and director of athletics. Barnes announced on Friday.

In her 10 seasons, the Panthers compiled a 258-62 mark and won four ACC Conference Championships in that span, including the 2022 crown and a third straight win in 2017-2019.

In the past five seasons, no other team has achieved as much success as Behonick and Pitt, achieving an NCAA best 140 wins in five years.

Behnick led four different Panthers to AVCA All-America honors, including two first-teamers in Courtney Bazelio and Serena Gray, as the team went 31-4 on the season. Behonick helped lead Pitt into another season as a top 10 offense, finishing sixth in the nation with 1,764 kills on the season and hitting 1,640 with 1,640, the seventh-best mark in the nation.

Behnik assists Kayla Lund with the program’s first AVCA All-America First Team selection and first four All-ACC First Team selections in the 2021 season, which saw the Panthers journey to the Final Four for the first time in program history. Did.

Pitt finished the 2018 season ranked in the NCAA RPI Top 10 for the first time in program history. Behonick helped lead the Panthers to their first full ACC volleyball championship in school history. The Panthers secured the No. 12 seed in the NCAA Tournament and hosted the first and second rounds at home in his gym for the first time in program history.

The 2017 season began a stretch for three straight ACC titles as Behnik and Pitt shared the title with Louisville for the first ever ACC Championship in program history, back to back in the NCAA Tournament for the first time since 2003–04.

Behnik and the Panthers returned to the NCAA Tournament for the first time in 12 years and reached the second round for the first time in 13 years during the 2016 season, continuing their 20-plus winning season.

In the 2014 and 2015 seasons, Behnick assisted the Panthers to 20 or more wins in two consecutive seasons for the first time in over a decade, as he was named an AVCA 30-under-30 winner in 2015.

She completed her undergraduate degree in Business with her Bachelor of Arts in Sports Management in 2008 and a Master of Arts in Coaching and Exercise Management from Concordia in 2014.

Originally from Dana Point, California, Behnik (ex-Campbell) is back on the West Coast with her husband, Michael, and two sons, Miles and Aiden.
