OSU Baseball Selected to Host NCAA Regional

The NCAA on Sunday night announced the regional site for this year’s NCAA Baseball Championship. Oklahoma State University’s new Oblate Stadium will be under the bright spotlight this postseason. The Cowboys have been named as one of 16 regional hosts, along with the Big 12 Texas. TCU, Texas Tech, and OU were one of the most notable snubs to avoid winning regional hosting obligations.

OSU is 39-20 this season and is expected to appear in the 47th region of the program’s history, the fourth most in history. Under Josh Holiday, it marks OSU’s 9th straight regional berth and is the 4th time to enter the postseason as a regional host. The last three times were the first in a row in 2014 and 2015, followed by 2019 at OKC.

The following is an overview of each selected region.

The Big 12 was a very strong year as one of the best conferences in baseball, but it wasn’t. necessary It will be reflected when you see the whole picture. ACC and SEC have each selected four programs for their regional sites. There were two each on the Big 12 and Pac-12.

If OSU retains its home serve in its own regional, it will move on to the sixth Super Regional in program history, following previous appearances in 1999, 2007, 2014, 2016, and 2019. Only two previous five Super Regional appearances (1999 and 2016) — Did OSU advance to the College World Series?

Regional matches will be released between Monday’s annual selection show and seeds. This does not affect regional hosting assignments, but it can affect who is subject to super regional hosting obligations.
