Pistons vs. Clippers final score: Detroit collapse late, get blown out in OT

Even by the low standards of the NBA’s worst detroit pistons Tonight’s 142-131 overtime loss is inexplicable this season. Detroit led 126 to 112 with 3:34 left after Isaiah Stewart’s and one.

The team made double-digit contributions from all eight players who saw 10 minutes or more of action. Clippers coach Tyrone Lue had his mind set on tomorrow’s Los Angeles road game against the Raptors, so he pulled the starter.

Sloppy turnovers, no-pass possessions, and a terrible look to the rim combined for an epic Detroit collapse. To wrap up regulation, the Pistons scored two points from the free-throw line while missing two other shots in the charity stripe that would have chilled the game. They scored three turnovers for him, missed his shots nine times, and pushed the game into overtime with a 16-2 run.

After that the overtime was the same but worse and more depressing. Paul George’s driving layup and one gave the Clippers an early three-point lead. The Pistons tied the game with his 3-pointer from Alec Burks. Those were the only Pistons points in overtime. Additionally, he had three turnovers and no extra baskets.

All told, the Pistons were on the receiving end of a 30-5 run with just 8:34 seconds of game action. It went from a great bounce game after a big disappointment in Atlanta to probably the worst loss of the season.

The locker room is probably a gloomy place, and if anyone feels they have an answer to what’s going on on the floor, I’m interested. is. And the late-game offense remains a team full of highly skilled, isolated players trying to save the game by putting them on their backs and creating a quality-less look.

It’s a dire situation in Detroit.

For those interested in the stats, Isaiah Stewart scored 21 points on 8/10 shooting, hitting from 3/4 deep and becoming increasingly comfortable taking action on the perimeter. Note that it looks like Cillian Hayes struggled with two-point looks tonight, but finished with 18 points, hit four 3s and had 10 assists, and Jalen Duren, at least offensively, had a few shots from rebounding and short rolls. He’s been a great passer and continues to improve his slot at center. He finished with a double-double of 15 points and 12 rebounds. The Pistons also had a good time by stealing his 12 points from Hamidu Diallo.

Paul George leads the Clippers with 32 points.

A night of terrifying executions at the defensive end, they matched terrible defense with crunch-time terrible offense. That’s all I got for you tonight
