Q1:
Nikola Jokic won the tipoff and scored the first basket steal of the game before knocking down a layup. Aaron Gordon then scored his next six points for the Nuggets, followed by Jamal Murray for his 13th consecutive point. Denver held the Clippers off the field in the first quarter, with him 4-21 shooting and 3 to 1-11 shooting. The Nuggets shot his 3 and his 50% from the field, but eventually calmed down and threw his 5 in a row before Jamal Murray made his 3-shot in the third. Missed.
Denver’s offense flowed early, with the Nuggets recording 8 assists in their first 10 goals. Jokic checked out with 2:00 remaining, and with the Nuggets down to 13, Sieg Nagy took his place. Bruce Brown started the quarter with his second 3-pointer of the game. The Nuggets came out full fire from 3 to start the game, and in his first 15 minutes of the game he shot 7-13. The Clippers compiled his four consecutive scoring possessions, but Kentavias Caldwell-Pope knocked down consecutive 3-pointers and the Nuggets didn’t let go of the throttle. Vlatko Kancal hit a dunk and the Nuggets trailed him by 27 points, more than doubling his scoring for the Clippers at the time.
The Nuggets continue their 10-0 run with Jokic still on the bench. The Clippers can’t get anything offensively in the first half, he shot 3 to 2-21, 11-41. The Nuggets have his 35-point lead, the largest of the season. Bones his Highlands toppled back-to-back 3s and the Nuggets continue his 19-0 streak. Jokic has seven assists in the half and the Clippers as a team he has five. The Clippers scored 9 of his 17 points in the quarter with 3:38 final in the quarter. The Nuggets go into halftime with him 34, 66-32.
Third quarter:
The Clippers start the second half with all bench players. Both the Nuggets and Clippers made his two shots in the first after halftime, with Jamal Murray knocking down yet another of his three-pointers. Back-to-back after a turnover he allowed a basket and an alley-oop before his coach Malone called a timeout while up to his 32nd. With seven minutes to go in the third round, the Nuggets made ten more threes (13-22) than the Clippers (3-25), but shot three fewer. The Nuggets continue his 11-0 run and MPJ unleashes a huge lob off the Joker.
Denver extends their lead to 40 points behind seven consecutive points from Jokic. The Clippers energized with Terrance Man’s Tomahawk dunk to go 6–0 and have a run of their own, followed by Malone his coach’s timeout. Zeke Nnaji picks up a great block and Bones Hyland finishes the possession with a stunning acrobatic finish. Vlatko Cancar made his three layups and the Nuggets scored a total of 100 points with 45 seconds remaining. Denver is 102-59 and he’s fourth.
Q4:
The Clippers still have only a bench player on the court to start the quarter. They score 6 of his 8 points in the first. Denver said he scored only four points in his first three minutes of the quarter, and Malone his coach calls another timeout. Nnaji finished with a tough and-1 dunk after Davon Reid knocked down a three. The Nuggets’ reserves put the game away and maintained a solid effort throughout the game, even though it was over long before the end-of-game buzzer sounded. Denver earned his first “Mander” of the season, holding the Clippers to just his 90 points.
