Steph Curry, Jordan Poole ignite Warriors in Game 2 win

San Francisco — This time, the Golden State Warriors in the third quarter got stuck and finished the fourth quarter.

The Golden State Warriors hit a supernova and Jordan Poole found a rhythm 107-88 wins Won the Boston Celtics in Game 2 of the NBA Finals on Sunday at Chase Center.

Poole won a 19-2 run at the end of the third quarter at 4:32 and buzzed near the midcourt, giving the Warriors a 23-point lead in the fourth quarter.

The Celtics fired a punch as Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown led a two-way attack in the first half. Tatum, who scored 12 points in Game 1, scored 21 points in the first half of Sunday. The last Celtics player to score more than 20 points in half was Ray Allen in 2010.

Tatum finished with 28 points and achieved 6 rebounds and 3 assists with 6 to 9 in the 3 point range. Brown had 17 points, 6 rebounds and 3 assists.

The Celtics committed 18, so the turnover hurt the Celtics. Players other than Tatum and Brown also struggled after the outstanding Game 1. Marcus Smart, Al Horford and Robert Williams each scored 2 points. Derrick White had 12 from the bench.

Both teams shot 40.5% across the arc, but the Celtics’ two-point shot hurt them (34.9%).
