Syracuse Orange women’s basketball: ACC Rankings and AP Poll Update for the week of November 18th

With four games under the orange belt, it’s finally time to start taking a broader view of women’s college basketball each week. How is Syracuse performing within the context of the ACC? What about other teams at the conference? What’s the latest change in AP voting?

We will be answering these questions every Friday as the 2022-2023 season continues.

With all that in mind, let’s get straight to the point. We have basketball to discuss.

ACC Power Rankings and Conference Scenes

Note: All team records include games through Thursday, November 17th.

Outside of a team or two, everything is calm in ACC when it comes to standings.

Other than the recent matchup with Virginia wake forestAs of Thursday night, 12 of the conference’s 15 teams remain undefeated in the season. is starting.

Every team has suspended at least 3-4 games. Current Friday morning meeting standings.

So far, 12 of the ACC’s 15 teams remain undefeated.

With a win over Long Island University, the Orange join five other ACC teams at 4-0 at the start of the season. All ACC teams participate in the latest AP Top 25 Poll (Louisville, Notre Dame, north carolinaNorth Carolina, and Virginia Tech.) Undefeated since the beginning of the year.

As of Friday morning, three teams have lost at least one: Wake Forest, Boston College and Clemson.

Wake Forest’s loss was against Virginia, so it’s not much of a concern for Demon Deacon.

Boston College and Clemson’s starters are rather red flags. BC lost to Harvard in 14th place by 9 points Ohio They are 18 points behind and their only win against Northeastern (just 5 points) and UMass Lowell. Boston College went 21-12 in the conference last season, and he went 10-8 in conference play.

As for Clemson, the Tigers suffered an embarrassing 54-point (no typo) loss to No. 1 South Carolina. little by little.

Heading into this week, we have some big matchups to watch against the ACC team. Louisville, who was ranked 6th overall in his latest AP poll, will face Gonzaga at home on Saturday night, where he is 3-0.Sunday night will feature two of his fun early-season matchups: Providence vs. Boston College, and No. 10-ranked NC State vs. No. 5-ranked NC State. U ConnFinally, No. 14 ranked Virginia Tech went 4-0 in Monday afternoon’s game. kentucky wildcats will also draw attention.

Latest changes in AP voting

Note: AP Top 25 voting information includes games through Monday, November 14th.

Heading into Week 2 of the Women’s Hoops, not much has changed at the top, other than Tennessee dropping from the top 5 to just outside the top 10.

Ohio State posted the biggest jump of the week, moving up from 14th to within the top 10.Candidate for honorable mention UCLA (31 points), South Dakota (15 points), Kansas (13 points), Miami (11 points).

All five ACC teams ranked in the top 25 AP are ranked in the top 15, more than any other conference. For ACC, Duke joined Miami as the only other team to receive the nth nod of honorable mention.

With the next women’s college basketball update scheduled for next Friday, the only game the Oranges will count into is the road matchup against Penn State.

Basketball has been suspended for two weeks and there’s still plenty left.
