wyoming and Illinois: I’m not in the habit of betting team totals in this column. Because I like to keep things as formulaic as possible to appeal to a wider audience. However, with a limited slate, they need to find as much value as they can, and this Illinois his team total has value. The Illini went 5-7 last year and regretted some of his seven losses. The team’s biggest problem was the offense, but Brett his coach Bierema didn’t want the situation to improve in his second year. Instead, he brought in a new offensive his coordinator, Barry Lanney Jr. Together in Arkansas, until Bierema saw Lanny’s UTSA offense in Champaign last fall that put him up 37 points against the Illini.
The Illinois offense doesn’t seem like what you’d expect from a Bierema team. Running the ball is still bread and butter, but the Illini plan to move at a faster tempo and spread things out a bit more. It is also small in size. Looking at the depth charts for both teams, Illinois’ offensive line has about 50 pounds per player on Wyoming’s defensive line. It’s an area to tap into, and with this being the home opener and Bierema looking to give fans a reason to get excited about his 2022, expect the Illinois offense to show up a bit .
