Storrs, Conn. — Sunday’s match between No. 5 UConn and DePaul’s Big East at the Gumpel Pavilion in Storrs, Conn. has been postponed.
At the conference, the school is required to have seven scholarship players for any game, with only six active Huskies left due to injuries, the school said.
UConn was also expected to be out of head coach Geno Auriemma, who announced on Thursday that he was taking some time off to recover from an illness.

Edwards flew into his courtside seat for a loose ball in the first half of a game the Huskies won 73-37 and was alternately described as having injured his right leg or ankle. It was not immediately clear when or how Patterson was injured.
The school said it would not release further details on Friday night.
“At UConn, the health and welfare of our student-athletes is always our top priority,” said David Benedict, the school’s athletic director, in a statement. “Unfortunately, our women’s basketball program has been impacted by an unprecedented number of injuries this season.While we regret having to postpone Sunday’s game, it is the right call to keep our student-athletes safe. Bookers and Brady will miss the season with knee injuries.

The school says those who have tickets for Sunday’s game will be able to use them when the game is rescheduled.
UConn will play at St. John’s next Wednesday, and DePaul will host Villanova that night.
