UConn’s 2022-23 Non-Conference Scheduled Three Most Interesting Games

As the years go by, some things remain the same. As the sun sets, the sun returns, and news breaks while Dan Connolly is on her vacation, UConn’s women announce a stronger unconference schedule than ever before.

The Husky’s 2022-23 non-conference slate released Wednesday The afternoon features a striking combination of quality competition, fierce rivalry, and the reunion of some old friends who are raising the ranks of coaching.

There are so many interesting and exciting games in the schedule that I have already circled them in my calendar.

Honorable Mention

December 4-at Notre Dame

This is a decisive rival in sports in the 2000s and should be another great environment for UConn to head to Joyce Center in South Bend. Like many great college basketball rivals, there is no love lost among the program’s many years of coaching.Gino Aurima and Maffet McGraw Still occasionally replace the thorns, They don’t fight bystanders like they used to. Neil Ivy has already returned the Irish to Sweet 16 in his first season as head coach, but rivalry has a bit of a talent without the fact that McGraw and Notre Dame are not candidates for the championship. Lose

December 8-Home vs Princeton

Former UConn guard Carla Berube has already incorporated Princeton into long-standing Ivy League power since jumping from Tufts University three seasons ago. The Tigers have won the Ivy League title in all seasons played under Belube and posted 25-5 records, including the final No. 1 pick Rhyne Howard and Kentucky wins at the NCAA tournament last spring. Did. While Shay Ralph and Marisa Moseley are doing things in Vanderbilt and Wisconsin, respectively, it is argued that Belbe is the best coach in Geno Aurima’s coach tree. That’s enough to make their December 8 match very interesting.

Tennessee TBA

It has a very similar feel to the away game with Notre Dame.Adds to the fact that Husky defeated Lady Vols in a compelling way last season With a 19-point victory, And it’s a fun nostalgic journey at best. We hope ESPN will get the game and put it on Martin Luther King Day as it used to be. Husky recreates the sweet uniforms of the 2000s.

No. 3.) December 11th Maryland

UConn and Terrapins haven’t met since 2017. The December match will be the first home-and-home match scheduled to begin in the 2020-21 season. Husky has a 7-0 lead in the all-time series, but Brenda Frese and Telp are most often in close contact with UConn, losing 10 at Madison Square Garden in 2015. This is the closest game Husky has played throughout the season. He lost 6 at College Park a year later, before losing 25 at the last meeting.

Frese and Maryland have achieved Sweet 16 in a row for the past two seasons, ranking 12th in last year’s NET rankings. This is one of the seven teams on Husky’s non-conference schedule and could be in the top 20. Become a flashy rival like Notre Dame, Tennessee and South Carolina. Husky has never lost, so it may not be a rival, but it is one of the best games of the season and will play the role of UConn. The first true test when they take on quality opponents on the road.

No. 2.) November 20-Home vs. North Carolina

With North Carolina State University joining the UConn for the second year in a row, Wolfpack fans will rematch the elite with Husky and be number one on the list. Wes Moore’s team could be one of the top ACC teams without the WNBA star forward Elissa Kneen. Husky and North Carolina State University, along with UConn, arguably played the best games of the entire tournament, although their dream season fell short of last season’s Final Four. Edge out Wolfpack 91-87 with double overtime Behind the legendary performance of Paige Bueckers.

In addition to its classics fresh to the memory of so many players, North Carolina State University and others are quite vocal about having to play husky at Bridgeport for such an important game. So expect Wolfpack to bring them all.

This season’s game is the first game in the Home and Home series where UConn heads to Raleigh next season. Depending on how this year’s match behaves, another rival against Husky may begin, and more matches may be played between these two teams in the future.

No. 1.) February 5-Home vs. South Carolina

Dawn Staley and Gamecock have been Husky’s toughest opponents over the last few seasons, and South Carolina has become the first school to beat UConn in last season’s national championship game. The victory, when Gamecock won his second national title and defeated Husky twice last season, only adds more fuel to the fire of this up-and-coming rival. Auriemma, Bueckers, and Huskies will certainly go out for revenge this season.

The Big East is shaped much as usual this season, so this February match will be the final Litmus about how Husky will be shaped against the elite competition before joining the NCAA tournament. It is also useful as an exam.

With the ability to avenge the defeat of the title game, look back on rivals and establish itself as a legitimate title candidate to beat the gamecock, this Top 5 match is a must-see television and Husky’s most important. It is one of the things. Regular season game.
