Earlier this week, Western Kentucky announced Dontai Allen had been left out of the competition due to issues that arose while he was still a member. kentucky wildcats.

Rick Stansbury, now head coach of Western Kentucky, detailed the situation, saying that before entering the transfer portal and committing to the Hilltoppers, Britain played Allen, who was ineligible last season.
Apparently, the redshirt junior had grade problems that made him ineligible during the 2021-22 fall semester at Lexington.
“Kentucky played seven games with him[Allen]when he[Allen]was ineligible,” Stansbury said. So how does the child know that?
“Nobody can say it was the kid’s fault for the poor grades. He didn’t know. If the adults in the room didn’t know, he didn’t know either.”
Stansbury also revealed he was fined for playing Allen in seven games while Kentucky was ineligible.
“Kentucky got punished. They got fined $500 per game for seven games ($3,500 total), but now we’re the ones getting punished. It’s the kids getting punished.” .”
Sadly, Allen played a whopping 25 minutes in those seven games, but that was enough to keep him out of competition at his new school for the time being.
