The UNCW women’s basketball team has revealed its full 2022-23 schedule after the 18-game Colonial Athletic Association Conference slate was released on Tuesday morning.
The 29-game schedule includes 14 home contests and 15 away tilts at the Trask Coliseum, plus a home exhibition match against the Virginia Union on October 29th. , Norfolk State University, Stony Brook (twice), Towson, Wofford – from the 2021-22 season.
UNCW will face 11 non-conference opponents starting with the opening game against NCAA Division II opponent Lenoir Lyne on November 7th.
“We always expect CAA to be a highly competitive league,” said UNCW interim head coach Tina Martin. “Looking at the non-conference schedule, I think we have a good balance of games that will challenge us and give us opportunities to improve as we prepare to play CAA.”
The Seahawks will return to Greenville, North Carolina for the first time since playing East Carolina on November 13, 2018.
The first matchup in Virginia on December 4th will kick off the first of December’s four-game road swing. The Seahawks will visit North Carolina, his 2022 Sweet 16 team, for the first time in four years on Dec. 7. The road trip ends in Coastal Carolina (December 18) and Western Carolina (December 21).
Norfolk State will make final preparations before the CAA play on December 23rd.
The Seahawks’ conference schedule features nine home and nine away contests against all 12 league opponents. Repeated opponents include Charleston, Elon, Northeastern and his CAA newcomers Hampton, North Carolina A&T and Stony Brook.
UNCW will start the CAA game against the Dragons, who are leading the league with a 16-2 record in the 2021-22 season. The Seahawks then travel north for weekend road trips at Stony Brook (January 6) and Northeastern (January 8).
The two-week stretch saw UNCW play three home games against Hofstra (13 January), Elon (20 January) and Monmouth (22 January), plus a trip to the Hamptons on 15 January. provide.

The 2022-23 season will be the first time since the 2012-13 season that the league has not run a full double round robin schedule. CAA responded to regional competition by incorporating input from each agency throughout the process.
