Washington Volleyball Falls to TCU in 1st Round of NCAA Tournament

Washington qualified for its 21st straight NCAA Tournament and was seeded 8th. TCU in Wisconsin. In the first set, the Husky just couldn’t find a rhythm. TCU pulled away at the end after leading by 2-4 points for most of the set and he eventually won 25-18.

The second set went much better. Most were back and forth, but this time Washington pulled away late. They led by his 24-20, but TCU kept fighting. Horned Frogs scored his fourth consecutive points and tied at 24. It looked like they had the lead, but the TCU player was ruled to be in the net, and the Huskies saw him end 26-24, tying the score one set at a time. .

From the jump things turned against the Huskies as TCU won an early challenge (UW lost both challenges even earlier) to go 3-0. Midway through the set, TCU put in a massive run that allowed them to extend their lead to 20-10 before UW finally scored a point. The Huskies didn’t give up and kept running while TCU was at set point, but dug too deep and the Horned Toads won Set #3 25-20.

As was the trend, the first few points remained mostly close as all were tied at 11. Unfortunately, TCU took control from there and extended their lead to 21-16.Washington answered with a few points in a row, but ultimately couldn’t get closer than three points the rest of the way. was

It was a disappointing season for Washington, who entered the year with high hopes but battled major injuries. Star Muddy Endsley suffered a season-ending ankle injury and several others were out of the lineup for stretches. After starting the year as the 9th-ranked team in the country, the Huskies settled for the 8th-ranked seed in his NCAA Tournament without a win.
