“Some of them are harder than others. I think the atmosphere they have in Kansas is hard to play. It’s very vocal. I think it’s a little more difficult,” Huggins told Fox News Digital in a recent interview.

“Communication is definitely a lot more difficult, but I mean we have a great league, we have a great coach and everyone gets along. No problem. The players love playing in the league. I think a lot of us have had success playing professionally and making a career out of it.

Huggins turned to the transfer portal to recruit experienced players and add depth to their roster.

“Every year, especially with the current portal, there are players who are looking to transfer. And we did the same thing. We went to the portal and got someone who really liked the portal and it worked really well. I think,” Huggins said. “We’ve had some injuries, but if those injuries are treated, I think we’ll be a lot better thanks to them.”

The legendary head coach admitted he didn’t like the transfer portal at first, saying he sympathizes with the more than 400 future Division I basketball players who haven’t found a landing place.

“I didn’t like it at all. The bad thing is that there are about 460 kids left in the portal, so I think there are 460 kids with nowhere to go. They need to fix it somehow.” I think there is.” I don’t know how to fix it, but I think I have to do something about it somehow. [There’s a] Good 460 kids think they’re going to leave where they are and go somewhere better or bigger or something else, but that’s not really the case,” Huggins said. I’m here.

“And now all of a sudden they’re sitting there, often going to schools that don’t have scholarships, and in that schools they’re walk-ons. Or they don’t offer scholarships (Division III ) school. And that’s not what they intended when they entered the portal.
