What happened to the men’s college basketball Class of 2012?

Some high school recruitment classes have multiple final features NBA Super star. Others have the potential to spawn multiple all-stars or future national champions.

The 2012 high school class wasn’t. It is not produced like many other classes for a variety of reasons (injuries, illnesses, and just helplessness). So far, ten years after they first entered college, the best NBA star out of the group was Steven Adams (winning / stock analysis).After publishing today’s article What Happened to Shabazz MuhammadI decided to look back at the RSCI Top 20, the top recruit in the class who played for the Filipino League Beerman at the age of 29 last season, to see what happened.

1. Shabazz Muhammad, UCLA

University Statistics: The average for one season is 17.9 PPG, 5.2 RPG.

Team Results: NCAA Tournament Lost in Round 2.

Draft position: 14th (2013)

Best NBA Season: 13.5 PPG, 2014-15 4.1 RPG Minnesota..

Recently: Played in the Philippines.

T1.Kentucky Nerlens Noel

University Statistics: 10.5 PPG, 9.5 RPG per season.

Team Results: NIT loss in the first round (did not play due to ACL corruption).

Draft position: 6th (2013)

Best NBA Season: 11.1 PPG for the 2015 Sixers, 8.1 RPB for 67.

Recently: Appeared in 25 games, with an average of 3.4 PPG per Knicks game.

3. Isaiah Austin, Baylor

University Statistics: Average 8.6 PG, 6.9 RPG over 2 years (diagnosed with Marfan syndrome and stopped playing).

Team Results: Participated in one NCAA tournament.Lost the second round

Draft location: Not eligible for draft due to Marfan syndrome.

Best NBA Season: I didn’t play in the NBA.

Recently: I participated in the NBA Office Fellowship Program.

T3. Kyle Anderson, UCLA

University Statistics: 12.2 PPG, 8.7 RPG 5.0 APG in 2 Seasons

Team Results: Two NCAA tournament appearances.Lost first round and regional semifinals

Draft position: 30th (2014)

Best NBA Season: Start 69 games, averaging 12.4 PPG, 5.3 RPG, 3.6 APG Grizzlies 2020-21.

Recently: I played 69 games starting from 11. Average 7.6 PPG, 5.3 RPG, 2.7 APG.

5. Steven Adams, Pitt

University Statistics: The Big East Rookie of the Year averaged 7.6 PPG, 6.3 RPG, and 2 BPG.

Team Results: NCAA Tournament Lost in Round 2

Draft position: 12th (2013)

Best NBA Season: 2018-19 Oklahoma City average 13.9 PPG, 9.5 RPG.

Recently: Started 75 games in Memphis, averaging 6.9 PPG, 10 RPG.

6. Anthony Bennett, UNLV

University Statistics: 16 PPG, 8 RPG in one season.

Team Results: NCAA Tournament Lost in First Round

Draft position: 1st place (2013)

NBA Best Season: 2014-15 Minnesota Average 5.2 PPG, 3.8 RPG.

Recently: Played in Taiwan.

7. Caleb Tarchevsky, Arizona

University Statistics: 8.8 PPG, 6.5 RPG in 4 years in Arizona.

Team Results: Participated in NCAA tournaments four times. I lost in the regional semi-finals, regional finals, regional finals, and the first round.

Draft position: No draft

Best NBA Season: I’ve never played in the NBA.

Recently: Finished the fifth season at Olimpia Milano. 2021 EuroLeague Final Four.

8. Alex Poythress, Kentucky

University stats: 8.6 PPG, 5.5 RPG (teared ACL as a junior) in 4 years.

Team Results: Participated in three NCAA tournaments. National final, national semi-final, second round.

Draft position: No draft

NBA Best Season: 10.7 PPG, 4.8 RPG in 6 games at 76ers in 2016-17.

Recently: Signed with Maccabi Tel Aviv in June.

9. Marcus Smart, Oklahoma

University Statistics: 16.6 PPG, 5.9 RPG, 4.5 APG in 2 years. This year’s Big 12 Freshman.

Team Results: Two NCAA tournament appearances. Lost the second and first rounds.

Draft position: 6th (2014)

Best NBA Season: 2021-22 Celtics 12.1 PPG, 5.9 RPG, 1.7 SPG.

Recently: Selected for the NBA Defensive Player of the Year, the first guard since 1996’s Gary Payton won this award.

10. Archie Goodwin, Kentucky

University Statistics: 14.1 PPG, 4.6 RPG, 2.7 APG in one season.

Team Results: NIT lost in the first round.

Draft position: 29th (2013)

Best NBA Season: Phoenix Suns 2015-16 8.9 PPG, 2.1 APG.

Recently: Signed with the Israeli Premier League team in February.

11. Grant Jerrett, Arizona

University stats: 5.2 PPG, 3.6 RPG in one season.

Team Results: NCAA Tournament Lost in Semifinals

Draft position: 40th (2013)

Best NBA Season: Participated in five games in Oklahoma City 2014-15.

Recently: left the Russian team after the invasion of Ukraine.

12. Rashid Slymon, Duke / Maryland

University Statistics: Dismissed in the third season with the Blue Devil for violating the team’s rules. Average 11.3 PPG, 3.5 RPG, 3.5 APG Maryland..

Team Results: Participated in three NCAA tournaments.Lost in semifinals, second round, semifinals in Maryland Duke..

Draft position: No draft

Best NBA Season: I’ve never played in the NBA.

Recently: Played in France.

13. Ricky Ledo, Providence

University Statistics: Academically ineligible and did not play

Draft position: 43rd (2013)

Best NBA Season: Average 7.2 PPG, 2.8 APG in 12 games against Knicks 2014-15

Recently: Played in Taiwan.

14. Cameron Ridley, Texas

University Statistics: 8.2 PPG, 6.3 RPG in 4 years.

Team Results: Participated in three NCAA tournaments. I lost twice in the second round and once in the first round.

Draft position: No draft

Best NBA Season: I’ve never played in the NBA.

Recently: Played in Madagascar.

15. Brandon Ashley, Arizona

University Statistics: 10.3 PPG, 5.4 RPG in 4 years.

Team Results: Participated in three NCAA tournaments. I lost twice in the regional finals and once in the semi-finals.

Recently: Played in Australia.

16. Gary Harris, Michigan

University Statistics: Big Ten Freshman of the Year, average 14.9 PPG, 3.0 RPG in two seasons.

Team Results: Two NCAA tournament appearances. I lost in the regional semi-finals and the regional finals.

Draft position: 19th (2014)

NBA Best Season: Average 17.5 points in 67 Nuggets games 2017-18.

Recently: An average of 11 points per game in 62 Orlando games.

17. Rodney Purvis, NC / UConn

University Statistics: 8.3 PPG and 2.4 RPG per year at North Carolina State University. 12.7PPG, 3.2RPG in 3 years at UConn.

Team Results: Two NCAA tournament appearances (once at each school). Both lost in the second round.

Draft position: No draft

NBA Best Season: Average 6.0 PPG in 16 Orlando games 2017-18.

Recently: I recently played in Ukraine.

18. DaJuan Coleman, Syracuse

University Statistics: Average 4.9PPG and 4.4RPG for a four-year injured career.

Team Results: Two NCAA tournament appearances. Lost the second round of the national semi-finals.

Draft position: No draft

Best NBA Season: I’ve never played in the NBA.

Recently: I work as an AAU coach in collaboration with children in the Syracuse area.

19. Sam Dekker, Wisconsin

University Statistics: Western Region MOP: Average 10PPG and 5RPG over 3 years.

Team Results: Participated in three NCAA tournaments. Lost in the second round, national semi-final. National final.

Draft position: 18th (2015)

Best NBA Season: Play 38 games in 2019 rocket..

Recently: I played in Turkey last season.

20. Kris Dunn, Providence

University Statistics: Big East POY and DPOY; averages 12.8 PPG and 5.8 APG over 3 years.

Team Results: Participated in three NCAA tournaments. I lost in the second round every time.

Draft position: 5th (2016)

Best NBA Season: Chicago’s 2017-18 average is 13.4 PPG and 6 APG.

Recently: Signed in 10 days Portland After missing everything from the previous season due to a leg injury.
