Wisconsin women’s volleyball earns No. 1 seed in NCAA Tournament as they persevere through photo-leak scandal

“19-1 in this league is what this group did,” Sheffield said. “I told them I was more proud of tonight’s win than last night’s win. To beat a team as good as Ohio State is incredible.”

The victory over Nebraska also gave Wisconsin its fourth straight Big Ten title.

Leaked photos of Wisconsin women’s volleyball team originated from player’s phone

Wisconsin stuck with the tournament in the shadow of the scandal that plagued the program earlier this season.

The University of Wisconsin issued a statement on October 19, Badgers women’s volleyball team It was being circulated online “without consent,” leading to a “multiple criminal investigation” by UW Madison police.

Reports at the time said the photo was taken in the locker room after Wisconsin won the Big Ten in December 2021.

“Our research was not focused on any student-athlete,” Robicott said in an email.

A university statement in October said photos and videos “never intended to be shared publicly” were posted on the Internet, prompting players to contact police.
