The Arkansas women’s basketball team’s 15-game non-conference schedule was announced Wednesday by sixth-year head coach Mike Neighbors. Arkansas’ non-conference slate includes seven of his contests at Bud Walton Arena, the first being his Friday November 11th matchup against Central He’s Arkansas. Hoggs will play three road games and participate in two tournaments (Paradise Jam on Virgin). Islands and San Diego Invitation.
“With this non-conference slate, we have no doubt the SEC will be ready to play,” said Neighbors. “coach [Todd] Schaefer works throughout the year to ensure he builds an NCAA-worthy schedule. It’s a shifting puzzle until the final contract is signed, sealed and handed over. ”
The Razorbacks are set to open the season at Natural State in Arkansas Pine Bluff on Monday, November 7. Friday, November 11th.
“[We have] A historic trip to Pine Bluff for the season opener,” said Neighbors. “coach [Dawn] Thornton is our system/sister school in a basketball-loving city building a roster like the SEC. It would be a great vibe for us to inform you about the 2022-2023 non-conference slate.
“Continuing our tradition of playing against in-state opponents, Coach [Sandra] Rushing will bring Central Arkansas back to the Bud Walton Arena for the home opener. We are planning some early morning tips to restart the Kids Day, which has had a huge turnout over the past few years. ”
The Hogs wrapped up their homestand with games against Tulsa (Monday, November 14) and Kent State (Thursday, November 17) before heading to the State Capitol and the Jack Stevens Center (Sunday, November 11). ) on the streets of Little Rock. 20).

In December, the Hogs will be home to Bud Walton for a fourth straight game. On Thursday, Dec. 1, the Hoggs are set to host Troy as former Hogg and now assistant coach Chelsea Dungey returns to Fayetteville. Hoggs will wrap up his week with a matchup against Oral Roberts (Sunday, Dec. 4). Arkansas will then play host to Lamar (Thursday, Dec. 8) and play their final home game against Arkansas in 2022 (Sunday, Dec. 11).
“Our home schedule wraps up with a final in-state opponent [Arkansas State]. Coach [Destinee] Rodgers leads the Red Wolves to Budd for the first time. After taking over as head coach in the middle of the year, her team picked up momentum over the summer with a strong finish,” Neighbours said. “We are expecting a record number of spectators this time!”
The Hogs will now target a rematch with Clayton on the road on December 17 at the CHI Health Center in Omaha, Nebraska. Arkansas then concludes its non-conference schedule with the San Diego Invitational. The Hoggs will start their tournament against Oregon (Tuesday, December 20) and then play either Ohio State or USF on Wednesday, December 21.
