Women’s Basketball Enters Mid-Major Top-25 Poll

East Greensboro – The A&T Women’s Basketball Team of North Carolina is ranked again. A&T participated in collegeinsider.com’s major Top 25 poll after taking the poll two weeks ago, becoming her 25th-ranked team nationally.

“We are grateful that our program has been recognized in this way,” said the head coach. Tarell Robinson Said. “It lets us know that our efforts and sacrifices are being watched on a national scale.”

A&T won the entry with 56 votes, beating Sacramento with 54 votes. The Aggies are 13-6 overall, and he leads the Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) standings by a game and a half with a 7-1 record. Drexel, Stony Brook and Towson are 5-2 and he is second.

The Aggies are the first CAA member schools to be ranked in the midfield, but have voted as the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) three times before, and in 2018 the Aggies advanced by winning the MEAC. to the NCAA Tournament.

A&T beat Elon 67-50 in the first CAA conference game at the Corbett Sports Center on December 30 and has been a defensive marvel in the conference ever since. The Aggies lead the conference in defensive field goal percentage (.365) and 3-point field goal occupancy percentage (.295).

Additionally, A&T opponents turn over the ball more than 19.9 times per game, the second most in the conference. The Aggies are third in the league in ERA (61.6). A&T has yet to concede his 70 points to his CAA team in regulation. Nationally, the Aggies rank him 36th in goal percentage on defense, 38th in rebounds per game (41.4), and 35th in turnovers per game, offensive rebounds (14.9). He is ranked 26th on the

A&T opened the conference and after winning their first five games, Delaware came to Corbett and defeated the Aggies 69-52 on January 15th.

Drexel, ranked 22nd, is the only other CAA school to be ranked in the poll. However, Stoney Brook is accepting votes. The Aggies will host College of Charleston on Sunday at 2pm before traveling to Elon on Friday at 7pm to face Phoenix.
