– Women’s Golf Freshman at Presbyterian University Mariana Polakova (Brno, Czech Republic) was named Big South Freshman of the Week after Blue Horse finished seventh at the Elon Invitational earlier this week.
– She started the tournament with a 73 in Monday’s opening round, taking three birdies over the event’s first eight holes. In round two, she recorded her only birdie on her par-4 13th hole, and in the second round she scored a 74 at 13 par. Polakova finished tied for 10th at her individual championships in Burlington on Monday afternoon as she completed 36 holes.
– She responded with an even par 71 on Tuesday with 4 birdies on the scorecard. The Bluehorse freshman scored one under-round on the inside nine to tie for ninth overall in the event. Polakova had nine birdies on her, including his four on Tuesday, as he finished tied for fourth among all competitors for the week.
