Women’s Soccer Shuts Out Colgate, 1-0

Providence, Rhode Island – The Providence College women’s soccer team defeated Colgate University 1-0 in the 2022 season opener for the RI Seniors at Chapay Field at Anderson Stadium in Providence on Thursday, August 18. Ava Blunt (Chester, New Jersey) Scored Monk’s only goal with a graduate student assist Elena Grilakis (Lowell, MA).

Game Flow and Precautions
– Brandt scored his second college goal for the Flyers in 2014th Minutes of the game from the left side of the box. Grilakis assists with a cross pass.
– Providence held the ball on the offensive end for much of the first half.
– Goalkeeper Emma Bodmer (Monroe Township, N.J.) earned their first shutout of the season, facing no single shots on goal.
– The Flyers beat the Raiders 15-3.
